I took my drawings and ideas to cliff and he liked the more free flowing organic sketches. I started thinking about what materials we had at hand and decided to make a sketch using a bunch of ancient conduit that Leland pulled down from the rafters. Here is what I came up with.

When I finished the first sketch of the single door I thought that the conduit could pass between all three doors and make a larger wave or ripple. Then I got the idea that the conduit could actually act as the door handle, so you could grab any area of the metal to pull open the door.
I was excited when I finished sketching these ideas, so I ground, aligned, and welded the door frame, from 1/8" thick, 1 and 1/2" angle. You can see where this frame is in the sketches. I know it's a massive door, 9' 4 and 1/2" x 3'.

And the top corner weld.
